Revamp Tombs of Primeval Kings
Is it just me or does anyone else think this place needs a revamp? The outpost is desserted nowadays which is a great shame as i loved ToPK runs back in the day. I know the nerf to B/P was the main reason for the dramatic decline but i feel Anet could have done more to encourage people to use other classes and builds after the nerf. So i reckon the time is now for Anet to change a few things to make Tombs a buzzing place once again!
The main thing that could use a revamp is the drops/rewards... Let's face it the drops/rewards aren't all that good which puts off quite a large percentage of GW players as they'd rather go elsewhere. Basically Tombs need to be put on a par with dungeons on GW:EN!! They would also need to rework the completion rewards since the Greens that drop there are completely worthless... Due to that the bosses should continue to drop them and if you get one you get one and if you don't you don't... But there should be a chest at the end that drops items for everyone(gold+rare material+key)
The spawn locations could also do with a bit of revamp as Tombs is pretty easy provided whoever is luring knows the spawns and pop up locations. Thus i reckon they should create a few random locations for pop ups rather than static spawns.
If you have anything else to add to this please do!
I just feel this place is completely out dated and as a result people don't want to play it anymore.. The only way i manage to get a trip there is organising a guildie event. I'm also suprised at the amount of players who are completely unaware of Tombs... So there should definately be a weekend event at Tombs coupled with the revamp to do a bit of promotion.

Or you could do it and not care about the drops so much.

If you bothered to read the original post you would see i don't realy care for the drops... I just want to do runs there in a human team. H&H outside missions doesn't do it for me... I suggested increasing drops and reworking the mechanics of Tombs to lure other players back to Tombs... As it stands the Tombs outpost is literally dead so it's near IMPOSSIBLE TO PLAY without a guild team or H&H. Can you comprehend that?

Frankly, all they really need to do to bring people back to playing this (as well as most of prophecies and factions) is to make the weapons inscribable.
Most of later end prophecies and factions are deserted (except for ToA - and we all know why that is popular). And the reason is simply that, other than to get a character to an area for mapping or capping, there is no incentive to stay there and play. You get what you've got to get and move on to where the money is - EoTN or Nightfall.
inscribable fellblades, storm bows and eternal shields - I would certainly play through it more.

Tombs almost became VERY popular again, but instead, we were mysteriously given an arbitrary 30,000 minutes of favor. :-)

When you pick what you want to see and post it like that of course you can twist my words to suit your agenda... But how about you stop being a moronic troll and look at the greater purpose of this thread instead? If you can't work the purpose out then you are no longer worthy of my attention.
As for inscribable drops... i whole wholeheartedly agree with that idea. I'm honestly suprised Anet have never bothered to implement this!

I'd rather see them wasting their time on NEW content then reworking old one (that is if the old content works as nicely as Tombs!).
So a /notsigned from me.

I agree with this. Example: I can go into FoW in HM and get a bunch of drops and a statue in my Hall of Monuments. The reward is worth the work there. Why would I feel compelled to do a ToPK run when the reward isn't worth the effort? I get no guaranteed drop, and no statue. The whole fun of the run for SOME players is the reward. For SOME, it's just the level. If you made an end chest, the place would be packed again. IMO, ToPK has the best music in the game as well. Why would anyone have a problem with a new end chest, and statue for their Hall of Monuments?

They dont really need to waste too much time improving Tombs. They can for example introduce a new end boss drop exclusive to HM. Or simply increase the number or skills of various mobs in that area, with an improved chance of getting ectos or shards. Simple stuff that would make various players reconsider ignoring Tombs all together.

Add "dungeon" quest to it. With some interesting reward (one zaishen key) and you will have 20 districts there in minutes.

I think that if they simply put a chest at the end (instead of relying on the three bosses dropping worthless greens), Tombs is actually a fine place to have fun. Giving you a Hall of Monuments trophy for completing it as well would also revive interest in the area.

I totally agree with you. About a month ago, I did tombs for the first time with guild after playing the game for about 2 years. Had I heard of it before? Yes. Did I want to do it? No, because the rewards suck. It definitely needs to be upgraded, but I honestly doubt that will happen

Yeah, I agree with OP on everything else though. I used to love B/Ping there till it got nerfed. It has a great layout, and the final battle in the Hall of Heroes is nice. I just wish there was a reason to go there.

- Add a repeatable quest given by the "Commander Kuro": "Cleanse the Halls".
- Move the drops from the last bosses to a single chest that is opened separately by each character once all of them are dead.
- Remove the henchmen from the outpost.
- Complete the 'eternal/ghostly' and 'chaos' sets of weapons and make all of the items drop there.
For example:
* Eternal Sword (already in-game)
* Eternal Axe (eternal version of the White Reaver)
* Eternal Maul (eternal version of the Magmas Arm)
* Eternal Shield (already in-game)
* Ghostly Shield (eternal version of Turais Shield/Shield of the Lion)
* Eternal Bow (already in-game for Recurve bows, make also long and simple bows with this skin)
* Ghostly Bow (skin for Short and Hornbows, ghostly version of Half Moon)
* Ghostly Staff (already in-game, Ghostly version of Smitting staff)
* Ghostly Wand (ghostly versio of Smiting Rod)
* Ghostly Focus (ghostly version of the Protective Icon)
* Ghostly Daggers (Vizu's ghostly daggers: ghostly version of Sai)
* Eternal Spear (Eternal version of the Forked spear)
* Ghostly Scythe (Ghostly version of Suntouched Scythe)
